During the summer we tend to be more active, we’re soaking up doses of Vitamin D, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, sweating out the toxins, and getting some natural exfoliant from the sea and sand. As we move into late fall and the weather gets colder and the sun scarcer, don’t forget to take care of yourself and to make your health and well-being a priority. You brush your teeth, you exercise, you try to buy organic healthy and whole foods, so why not make self-care a habit rather than an occasional treat?
Try this once a week ritual for to unplugging, cleanse, exfoliate, pamper, and detoxify.
Run a hot bath. Use a few drops of essential oils, your favorite bubble bath, or a few drops of your favorite Made Simple Serum: try the Rosehip Chamomile or the Argan Geranium Serums.
After I’ve cleansed my face with the MadeSimple cleansing oil and soaked and steamed for bit, I add 1-2 tspn. of the Milk Thistle Rosemary Scrub to a few drops of water in a bowl and gently exfoliate my face, then I rinse with cool water from the tap.
I pat my face dry, then I add a few drops of water to 1-2 teaspoons of the Green Tea Cacao Mask, and soak a little longer, letting the mask do it’s work.
While the mask is working, I add some organic oil or soap to a loofa or you can create your own body scrub. If you’re feeling crazy you can even pumice your feet!
After about 10-15 minutes, rinse the face with fresh water, towel off, and moisturize with your favorite Made Simple body moisturizer, use the toner and serum on your face and you’re good to go.
If you want to up the anti, try mixing some Serum and body moisturizer for the feet, slip on some socks, and you’ll wake up with soft, smooth heels.
If you have lots of time, try mixing olive oil and sugar, scrub the hands with the mixture and leave it on for a few minutes, letting the oil work it’s way into the cuticles and hands.
And if you’re short on time, skip the bath, and after you wash your face and use the scrub, you can apply the face mask and leave it on while you get ready for bed or make lunches for the next day. Your skin will thank you.
